MyMoneyPlan™ is a 501(c)(3)not-for-profit organisation based in Berkeley, California.
MyMoneyPlan™ was created to encourage young adults to learn about financial planning and help their peers.
In February of 2018, the founder of MyMoneyPlan™ began researching and writing about the impact of financial education on young adults.
The founder was inspired by students who overcame financial adversity through unique paths to success.
With permission, the founder documented student success stories as case studies.
In August of 2020, the founder’s close friend and mentor passed away suddenly.
To honour the values and memory of that mentor, the founder created MyMoneyPlan™ as a lasting impact.
Today, MyMoneyPlan™ inspires young adults to cultivate their own lifelong financial wellness.
In MMP we are united in a common goal.
As educators, financial planning industry professionals, and affiliate partners, in MyMoneyPlan™ (MMP) we are united in a common goal.
That goal is to prepare students for financial success by empowering them to be their own catalyst for change.
MMP student leaders are ambassadors of financial planning to young adults.
We empower young adults by educating student leaders in financial planning and empathic listening.
We then mentor those leaders to share their financial literacy skills with their fellow students through peer financial counselling relationships.
In MMP we share the same vision.
We are coalition of financial planners, educators, and affiliate partners who are:
In agreement about upholding the United States national standards for financial literacy education,
Committed to following financial planning industry recognised ethical principles and codes of conduct at all times, and
Dedicated to applying peer empowerment strategies to the financial planning process.
MyMoneyPlan™ student leaders plant seeds of change that grow for generations.
When a student leader teaches financial planning skills to a peer, that peer often shares them with friends and family.
Families with good financial habits model positive money behaviours to future generations.
